Border Patrol Agents Apprehend Gang Members
EDINBURG - Border Patrol agents apprehended two men affiliated with the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.
Agents arrested a group of nine people in the U.S. illegally near Falfurrias; record checks revealed one of them had an arrest for attempted aggravated homicide in El Salvador.
The following day, agents working in Brooks County arrested a Salvadoran national attempting to evade the checkpoint.
During processing, record checks for the Salvadoran man revealed he is a 18th Street Gang member.
Border Patrol is processing both subjects accordingly.
