Border Patrol Detains Hundreds of People Crossing Border Illegally over 2-Day Span
GRANJENO – Hundreds of asylum seekers are crossing the border illegally in the town of Granjeno in what federal immigration authorities call a deceiving strategy.
“These individuals with the 170 – obviously, there’s not a raft that can take all 170. It’s going to be a coordinated effort by the transnational organizations to push that many people across,” explains Marcelino Medina, a Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agent.
KRGV’s Carolina Cruz spoke with a border resident who says in spite of the increase in crossings, his community remains peaceful.
