Border Patrol: More than 4,000 Apprehensions in First Week of Fiscal Year

WESLACO – Border Patrol agents say they’ve already seen a 100 percent increase in apprehensions for the fiscal year.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Manuel Padilla says the numbers have doubled for those crossing the border illegally.

Over 4,000 arrests were made for the first week of this fiscal year compared to the more than 2,100 arrests were made the first week of October 2017.
