Brothers Sentenced for Valley Shooting
SAN JUAN - Two Rio Grande Valley brothers will spend more than a decade in prison for a shooting from two years ago.
Luis Gonzalez and his brother, Nery, were sentenced Tuesday.
Luis was given a sentence of 15 years behind bars and Nery 17 years.
Authorities said both were working for the Gulf Cartel and were attempting to steal drugs another runner was moving.
The incident happened in October 2015. According to authorities, the brothers shot at the runner while he was driving on the expressway.
Two others involved in the incident are already serving prison time.
