BROWNSVILLE – A family is asking for the public’s help identifying the man who broke into their home.

It was a daytime burglary of a home on the 4800 block of Juniper Street.

Surveillance video shows the man driving around the neighborhood, even knocking, on the door before breaking in.

The suspect got away with jewelry, cash, and a T.V. that he’s seen loading into a vehicle.

“We feel sad for my mom. She’s an older person. She was spending her time at the daycare, playing bingo. She comes back and everything is broken and stolen,” said the homeowners’ son.

Brownsville police officer, Jose Trevino said, “If you see anything out of the ordinary or suspicious, call the police station. That’s what we’re here for. Even if we just send a unit out there to drive around in the area. That could be enough to deter.”

The burglar also caused property damage when breaking down a door.

If anyone recognizes the vehicle or suspect, you’re urged to call police at (956) 548-8700 or the Brownsville Crime Stoppers at (956) 546-8477.
