UPDATE (8/23): Police have cancelled the silver alert issued Thursday for a missing Brownsville man.

Officials have located 76-year-old Jesus Gonzalez Alvarez.

BROWNSVILLE – Brownsville police have issued a silver alert for a missing 76-year-old man.

They’re looking for Jesus Gonzalez Alvarez.

He was last seen Wednesday at 11 a.m. on the 700 block of East St. Charles Street.

Alvarez is described being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds and has hazel eyes and balding grey hair; he’s also missing his left ear.

The 76-year-old is diagnosed with a mental condition.
