BATON ROUGE, LA - Severe weather threats continue along the Louisiana coast.

Tropical Storm Barry weakened to a tropical depression Sunday afternoon, but that didn't mean residents weren't in need of rescue.

Members of the Cajun Navy in the Rio Grande Valley headed to the Baton Rouge area, armed with boats and supplies.

Todd Breland, the Director of the South Texas Cajun Navy, is from Louisiana.

He spoke with CHANNEL 5'S Cecilia Gutierrez about the efforts close to his heart.
