Chief: Texas police captain shared nude photos with others
AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - A 57-year-old Texas police captain has been arrested and charged on allegations he shared nude photos of a woman without her permission.
Amarillo police Capt. Jason Zang was arrested Friday on a charge of unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material. The felony charge carries a sentence of up to two years.
Chief Ed Drain said during a Friday news conference that the woman sent Zang naked photos while they were in a relationship. He says an investigation found Zang later sent them to other people.
Zang was briefly held in the Potter County jail on a $7,500 bond Friday. Drain says he bailed out later in the day.
Court records did not immediately list an attorney for Zang, who's been with city police since 1990.
He's on administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation.
