MCALLEN - Residents in McAllen have decided not to stand on the sideline and do nothing following recent shootings.

So, they've come up with something they call 'Another Side of Us.'

“Another side of us was a recent community project that we worked on with the city of McAllen and really focused on telling people our story," says Adan Garcia.

One prime example is the recent MXLAN festival at the McAllen Convention Center.

“It was a perfect chance to showcase our border culture, “says Garcia.
