FALFURRIAS – A Brooks County judge has been suspended once again.

Judge Imelda Barrera’s troubles erupted in late June after she was accused of assault and intentionally destroying a cellphone.

The suspension was briefly lifted but reinstated after prosecutors filed additional court documents.

A request by her attorneys to halt the case this week was denied.
