Crews Working to Verify Addresses for 2020 Census
WESLACO - The next U.S. census officially starts April 1 of next year.
However, crews will be on the streets in the Valley going door to door to ensure everyone is counted.
They will be walking the streets on foot to make sure every address is correct, and every name is accounted for.
All information collected in the census is confidential protected under title 13 of the u-s code.
It's against the law for the census bureau to publicly release responses that could identify anyone.
Official census workers will have a government badge with a photo and an official bag and laptop with them.
