Customs Officers Make $1.4M Heroin Bust

HIDALGO – Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge stopped nearly $1.5 million worth of heroin from crossing into the country.

Customs officers stopped a truck with a utility trailer driven by a 26-year-old man from Dallas.

During an inspection, officers discovered more than 35 pounds of heroin hidden within the trailer.

The drugs carried a street value of $1.4 million.

The driver was arrested and is in the custody of Homeland Security.
