NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Cameron Delaney had 21 points as Sam Houston State topped New Orleans 71-60 on Wednesday night.
Marcus Harris had 15 points and six rebounds for the Bearkats (20-9, 15-1) who clinched the number one position in the Southland Conference standings. Albert Almanza added 13 points. Josh Delaney had seven assists for the visitors. He also had seven turnovers.
Bryson Robinson had 15 points for the Privateers (16-11, 11-5). Gerrale Gates added 12 points. Scott Plaisance Jr. had 12 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
Sam Houston State matches up against Central Arkansas at home next Wednesday. New Orleans matches up against Nicholls State on the road on Saturday.
