The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident.

DPS Troopers tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS the incident happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday on FM 1015, South of Mile 12 North.

Authorities said a gray suspect vehicle fled after hitting 63-year-old Josie Betancourt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
