SAN JUAN - An elderly man was taken to the hospital after he was involved in a crash with a DPS patrol car.

It happened in San Juan at the intersection of the westbound frontage road and I Road Sunday.

San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez said the DPS unit was struck from behind. The elderly man in the other car was transported to the hospital. His injuries are not major. The DPS trooper was not hurt.
