Early Dismissal in Several Valley Schools Due to Flooding

WESLACO – Several school districts in the Rio Grande Valley are cutting class short and dismissing students early due to flooding.

On Tuesday afternoon, Roma Independent School District announced students could be picked up from school due to impending severe weather.

If parents cannot pick up their child, buses will still be available for students.

Per an Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District statement online, students from two campuses who use the bus will also be released early.

Longoria Middle School students were dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and Flores-Zapata Elementary School students are to be dismissed at 2:45 p.m.
