EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office on Friday arrested an Edinburg man accused of punching his father in the face during a robbery.

Deputies booked Reuben Rodriguez III, 28, of Edinburg at the Hidalgo County jail on Friday.

Rodriguez and a friend assaulted his father during a robbery, according to the criminal complaint against Rodriguez. They took cash, three phones and car keys during the robbery.

Rodriguez is charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony.

Court records don't list an attorney for Rodriguez, who remained at the county jail Thursday and couldn't be reached for comment.
