WESLACO – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is warning about the possibility of bugs due to winter approaching.

Pest management specialist Wizzie Brown says unwanted bugs, such as scorpions or cockroaches, want to go indoors during cold weather.

She tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS a few tips to keep them away: use sealant on cracks and make sure windows and doors have weather stripping.

"If you have any trees or shrubs that touch or overhang the house, trim those back. Now is a good time to trim them. A lot of times, insects will use that as a bridge to get into the house,” says Brown.
