BROWNSVILLE – Some Rio Grande Valley school districts reported an influx of students displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

On Monday, administrators with the Brownsville, Harlingen, Edinburg and McAllen school districts announced they were waiving documentation requirements for these students.

Brownsville Independent School District superintendent Esparanza Zendejas said the district already has 30 students enrolled.

In Harlingen, seven students were enrolled. McAllen ISD has at least six families working to enroll their children.
