Fatal Crash North of Palmview
PALMVIEW - Authorities are searching for a male driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash north of Palmview on Sunday morning. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Pontiac Aztek was traveling southbound on Minnesota Road north of 6 Mile Line Road. The driver reportedly lost control of the SUV and veered off the road, causing the vehicle to rollover.
One of the vehicle's two passengers died after being thrown from the SUV. The second passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the vehicle did not stay on scene. DPS troopers say the male driver fled on foot. The Texas Department of Public Safety is now investigating the crash, as well as working to locate the driver.
