FBI: Fugitive Wanted for Child Sexual Assault in California Possibly in Texas
WESLACO – Federal authorities from California are searching for a fugitive wanted for sexual assault of a child. They believe he may be in Texas.
FBI Spokeswoman Michelle Lee says they’re searching for 23-year-old Jose Arturo Navarrete, Jr. who was last seen in Texas, but could possibly be in New Mexico, Arizona or Mexico as well.
Navarrete was born in Midland, Texas and is described as a Hispanic male with hazel eyes and black hair. He is 5 feet, 11 inches and weighs 172 pounds.
He was charged in Sacramento County, California with four counts of lewd or lascivious act with a child, three counts of a sex act with a child 10 years old or younger and four counts of oral sex with a child 10 years old or younger.
The FBI is offering a reward up to $5,000 for any information leading to Navarrete’s capture.
