WESLACO – The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program will continue renewals for now.

Federal District Judge Andrew Hanen ruled Friday not to block DACA.

He decided to block the state of Texas and other opposing states because they waited more than five years after the program began to file lawsuits.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas spoke with Immigration Attorney Lionel Perez about the issue.

“These kids remain in limbo. They just don't know what's going to happen – 700,000 plus, maybe,” says Perez.
