SAN BENITO – Some federal employees are continuing to seek assistance from local food pantries.

Staffers reported an increase in demand last month during the shutdown.

The government has since re-opened, but some federal employees are still experiencing financial difficulties.

The President of the San Benito Food Pantry, Forest Walker says they fed over 100 government workers on Wednesday.

She says federal workers have a pass to go back to work, but won’t get paid for two weeks.

She says staffers will continue to help out, as long as there’s food available.
