Feds Warning about Callers Posing as Gov’t Officials
WESLACO – The government is warning about callers who are posing as government officials.
The impostors are targeting migrants who are trying to make a home here in the U.S.
They will pose as consular officers, shelter administrators, Border Patrol agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.
Border Patrol says they will bribe victims into paying up by explaining that the money is needed for the victim’s immigration case or plane tickets.
KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke with an attorney about this issue.
