Fire Crews Launch Drone to Help Control Hot Spots in Olmito

OLMITO – Firefighters are keeping a close eye on hot spots after putting out a fire in Olmito.

The blaze broke out near a car lot at Cavazos-Olmito Road and Darrera Road.

Firefighters were still present putting out hot spots when a CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew arrived.  

No damages have been reported but an extensive part of the field was burned.  Crews provided an aerial photo of the location.

A firefighter suffered a sprained ankle injury.

The fire chief said the fire is contained.
