CORPUS CHRISTI - It's not a new feeling for Valley football fans.  Long time observers are more than aware of the problems local teams face when they hit the 6A Regional round.  The new feeling often comes for the players elevated into a different level of playoff football.  From the third round on, the players are bigger, faster and more talented. Film and scouting alone can't prepare players for the high school football now on display.

Valley teams failed to crack the fourth round on Friday night.  San Benito fell to San Antonio O'Connor 52-43.  Austin Westlake crushed Vela 70-14.  Cibolo Steele stopped Weslaco East 36-21.

That leaves Los Fresnos as the lone survivor in the third round.  The Falcons will play a home game on Saturday afternoon.  The degree of difficulty increases because the contest is with defending state champ Lake Travis.

CHANNEL 5's Joel Villanueva and Brandon Ortega look ahead to the Saturday match-up in a live report from Corpus Christi.
