EDINBURG - Vela won an early season battle of unbeatens over Hanna on Friday in the CHANNEL 5 Game of the Week.  The SaberCats took the win 35-20.  A flea flicker pass for a touchdown right before halftime seemed to propel Vela into a solid 14-0 lead.  Though the Eagles never caught up, they were feisty and kept the game interesting until the final horn.  Vela will be looking for a lofty ranking when the initial Dave's Dozen poll is released on Monday evening.  Other teams from 32-6A fared well on the evening.  San Benito won a road test at Victoria West 43-41.  Los Fresnos rallied to edge LBJ 36-35.  Harlingen South edged PSJA North 24-23.
