HARLINGEN - The Hanna Eagles kept district championship hopes alive with a 32-6 win over Harlingen.  It was the Cardinals' third straight loss, but more importantly, ended a playoff drought for the Eagles.  Hanna qualifies for the playoffs with the win, and needs Harlingen's help in the form of a win in the week 11 Battle of the Arroyo to claim a share of the 32-6A title.  San Benito routed Weslaco 64-14.  A win in next week's rivalry game gives the Greyhounds the undisputed 32-6A championship.

In other games on Friday, La Joya upset Rowe 17-14.  McAllen Memorial, without playing, clinched a share of the 30-6A championship.  The Mustangs can win it outright in week 11 with a victory over Rowe.  Sharyland knocked Mission Veterans from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 48-42 victory.  The Rattlers, Patriots and Laredo Nixon are all 6-1, have knocked off each other in the round robin games, and with wins next week, will be tri-champs in 31-5A.  Rio Hondo took over first place in 16-4A, Division 2 with a 55-41 thrashing of Orange Grove.  The Bobcats can win the outright title next week at Progreso.
