Free Meal Programs Offered Throughout the Valley
WESLACO – Most Rio Grande Valley school districts are offering free meal programs for students this summer.
According to the Department of Agriculture, not everyone in 18 percent of Texas households is ensured consistent access to good nutrition.
To resolve this issue, TDA uses federal funds to partner with local organizations to serve meals in areas where more than 50 percent of children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
