Governor Abbott Declares State of Disaster in Rio Grande Valley
WESLACO – Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster Thursday for Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties following severe flooding.
According to the release, the state of Texas is working with local officials to ensure the counties have the necessary resources.
“I ask that all Texans join me and Cecilia in praying for those impacted by severe flooding. By working closely with local officials, we will put the communities of the Rio Grande Valley on a path to recovery,” said Governor Abbott.
