HARLINGEN – Authorities in Harlingen are considering more severe charges after the victim of an auto-pedestrian crash died from his injuries.

Last week, officers found the man lying on the 500 block of Ed Carey Drive around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The Harlingen Police Department says it’ll contact the Cameron County DA’s Office to discuss upgrading the charges against the driver.
