WESLACO – Residents along a main road that separates Donna and Weslaco say they’ve been dodging potholes for 20 years.

People living off of Midway Road say no one has taken ownership over the maintenance of the bumpy road.

"That road is the ugliest road you can think of. I mean it's just potholes everywhere,” says resident Luis Sustaita.

KRGV’s Taylor Winkel explains county officials are now stepping in. Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Commissioner David Fuentes says they were able to get into an interlocal agreement.

The precinct is partnering with both cities of Donna and Weslaco to fix the road – the county will provide the labor and the cities will provide the materials.

If you want to report an issue, call the Hidalgo County Precinct 1 office at 956-968-8733.
