Hidalgo Co. Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victim in Mission Homicide

UPDATE (8/22): The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office said the victim in an overnight homicide was identified. 

Cesar Eduardo Jaramillo, 19, was found deceased with a gunshot wound to the head on a Mission property. His next of kin was notified, according to a press release sent out by the sheriff's office.

MISSION – The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide near Mission.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Trey Leal Avenue.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said deputies received a call from a homeowner saying shots were fired just before 2:00 a.m. Authorities later found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the head.

“The homeowner witnessed what appeared to be an altercation here on the street, and he heard two rounds being fired, stepped outside and found the individual laying inside his yard,” Guerra said.

The victim hasn’t been identified, but investigators said they believe he’s in his mid-20s. He is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches, medium build and was wearing a white/blue polo shirt, blue jeans and has numerous tattoos, including the names "Sebastian" and "Daniela". 

An autopsy was ordered.
