Hidalgo County on Friday reported one coronavirus-related death and 63 positive cases of COVID-19. 

A man in his 70s from Pharr died due to the virus, according to the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department. 

Since the pandemic began, 2,866 people have died due to the virus in the county. 

The county also reported 63 new positive cases. Of the cases, 26 are confirmed, 11 are probable and 26 are suspect.
