High-Flying Wilson Takes Two-Sport Offer
MISSION – Sharyland Pioneer graduate Jordan Wilson is achieving a long-time goal.
"Something I've wanted all my life. When I first started playing basketball, I started playing like since I was in about fourth grade, and ever since then I was thinking about college basketball,” said Wilson.
Wilson is taking his aerial show to Texas A&M-Commerce. He received plenty of offers from schools around Texas, but he chose Texas A&M-Commerce because they’re offering him a chance to play basketball and compete in track and field.
“I just want to experience both,” said Wilson. “I know if I would have chosen one over the other, I would have regretted not even experiencing how it was. So it’s pretty important to me.”
In only a couple of years of doing track, Wilson has racked up a number of titles.
"District champ in the long jump, district champ in the 100 meter dash, district champ in the high jump and I was district champ in the 4x100 and 4x200,” said Wilson.
The former Diamondback standout will sign his letter of intent July 13.
