AEP Texas representative Lee Jones said around 700 customers in Port Isabel lost power due to a failed underground line. Crews are working to replace about 600 feet of underground line. There’s no word yet what caused the failure, but crews are expected to get power restored by early afternoon.
Jones said a crew just arrived at the scene of a large outage in Weslaco. They’ll need to diagnose the issue before they know how long it’ll take to repair the problem.
The Magic Valley Electric Coop is reporting 38 outages. (Link to map: http://www.magicvalley.coop/map/outage)
