WESLACO – The IRS is advising taxpayers to be informed about new tax laws.

The Child Tax Credit is now worth $2,000 under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which is twice as much as what it once was.

It also offers an additional credit for those who don’t qualify for the full amount.

The IRS advises to visit their website to learn more about getting a jump on next year’s taxes.
