LOS FRESNOS – The Los Fresnos Police Department is encouraging people to invest in gun locks to keep themselves and people around them safe.

The department is offering free gun locks to the surrounding community in an effort to reduce the risk of firearm theft, accidents and misuse.

They said with summer break around the corner, children will spend more time at home which could expose them to an unlocked gun.

The department encourages families that own guns to stop by the department.
