Man Accused of Arranging to Have Sex with Teen in Harlingen
BROWNSVILLE – Authorities arrested a man in Harlingen, after he allegedly arranged to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex.
According to a criminal complaint, last week, Harold Eimers Smith started emailing people he believed to be a 13-year-old girl and her mother. He was actually communicating with undercover Homeland Security Investigations agents. He’s accused of arranging to meet the teen to have sex.
On Tuesday, law enforcement agents arrested him at Bass Pro Shops in Harlingen.
