EDINBURG – A case stopped short by a social media post is finally before a jury.

Jorge Alberto Guajardo is accused of killing a teenager on Expressway 83.

It happened in Donna two years ago.

Then in August, Guajardo’s trial was suddenly stopped short.

The judge declared a mistrial when a witness posted about the case on social media, despite court orders not to discuss it.

It took three months, but this week Guajardo is back in court.

A new trial is back underway. A ruling on the murder charges is expected in the coming week.
