Man Accused of Striking Deputy with Vehicle in San Juan Charged
A suspect accused of striking a deputy with his vehicle is charged with multiple offenses.
44-year-old Jose Garcia was arraigned Saturday in a San Juan court.
He's charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest and detention, resisting arrest and search and evading arrest with a vehicle.
San Juan Police Chief, Juan Gonzalez said the Hidalgo County Precinct 2 deputy was hit during a traffic stop Friday on the 900 block of Border Breeze.
Garcia, a known gang member, fled the scene and was later caught that evening in a brushy area.
The deputy was treated and released.
Garcia's bond was set at $350,000.
