MISSION – A man charged with murder was sentenced to 28 years in prison Monday.

Ramon Aguilar Jr. pleaded guilty to gunning down Rodrigo Villanueva Alvarez and Juan Carmorlinga Torres.

It happened at a home on the 6100 block of Dario Street in Mission the day after Christmas in 2015.

Investigators say Aguilar and Alberto Ocanas were trying to steal drugs from one of the victims.

Deputies found firearms, cash and more than 400 pounds of marijuana in the house.

Ocanas was never found. He’s believed to be hiding out in Mexico.
