Crews are still on scene monitoring hot spots.

Crews from Donna, Weslaco and Mercedes fire put out the blaze within hours. Some hotspots rekindled while others continued to smolder.
We found out the Hidalgo County Cowboy is the property owner of all the locations where the fires occurred. He said the fire meant over an $8,000 loss for him in bales of hay, not taking into account the land damage.
“For me, since it’s not raining, we got in trouble because we lost a lot of round bales of hay,” Teo Martinez said.
The Mercedes Fire Marshal is investigating.
