Mexico City-Based Team to Join NBA G-League
MEXICO CITY – The NBA G-League, the organization's official minor league, and Capitanes, a professional basketball team based in Mexico City, announced Thursday that Capitanes will join the NBA G-League as its first team from outside the U.S. and Canada.
The team becomes the G-League’s 29th team and will make their debut at the start of the 2020-2021 season.
The team will play its NBA G-League home games at the Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City.
Capitanes was established in 2016 and currently competes in Mexico’s Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional.
