Mission Enforcing City Ordinance that Prohibits Parking on Sidewalks
MISSION – Some residents from the Sharyland Plantation community are confused by a new city ordinance that says it's illegal to park across the sidewalks.
They're being told they can't park on what they think is their own property.
Public Information Officer Arturo Flores from the Mission Police Department says it's a new city ordinance implemented from code enforcement to protect pedestrians in the area from having to walk in the road.
Flores explained, "So basically, it's from the end of the street, to the end of that sidewalk, it must be clear for the pedestrians to walk through."
