MISSION - An Army veteran from Mission is warning of fraudulent callers posing as Mission police officers.

Rigoberto Cardenas was told there was a warrant for his arrest.

"I got a call from this guy saying he was from the security, federal security department and he sounded real official," says Cardenas.

Cardenas explained the so called officer gave him a case and arrest warrant numbers.

Then, Cardenas started to ask the fraudulent officer questions.

"What’s the address of Mission PD, he got all upset, really upset – ‘do you understand that we can arrest you right now, within an hour we can have somebody over there to arrest you’," he explains.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the Mission Police Department's public information officer about the call.

They tell us they do not have any officers matching the names of those Cardenas said made the calls.

Mission investigators tell us an agency will not call to say they have a warrant for your arrest.  They send letters.
