More than $200K in Marijuana Seized at Pharr International Bridge
HIDALGO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 1,055 pounds of marijuana from a commercial trailer.
The incident happened Saturday at the Pharr International Bridge after a tractor-trailer carrying a cargo of avocados was referred to secondary inspection.
CBP officers then found 440 packages of marijuana within the consignment.
The drug’s estimated street value is more than $210,000, according to CBP.
It’s unknown if the driver was taken into custody.
The case remains under investigation.
