ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Jabari Narcis and Brian Warren posted double-doubles and Texas-Arlington cruised past Division II-member Arkansas Tech 85-68 on Sunday.
Narcis buried eight of his 12 shots from the floor, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range, and set a career high with 23 points for the Mavericks (3-3). Narcis matched his career best with 11 rebounds. Warren pitched in with 15 points and a career-high 12 assists. David Azore scored 16 but had five of UTA’s 11 turnovers.
Dillon Gooding topped the Wonder Boys with 19 points and five assists. Devante Foster added 17 points and eight rebounds, while R.J. Glasper scored 14.
The Mavericks shot 51% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc (7 of 19). The Wonder Boys made 22 of 58 shots (38%) and 32% from distance (10 of 31). The two teams combined to make 24 of 27 free throws.
