No Mosquitoes Caught in Hidalgo Co. Tested Positive for Zika

WESLACO – The Texas A&M research center in Weslaco is still working to track down Zika in Hidalgo County.

There are currently 80 traps set up around homes throughout Hidalgo County.

Dr. Ismael Badillo who leads the effort said not one mosquito has tested positive for the Zika virus.

The program began back in August.

Dr. Badillo said the research center has enough funds to continue their efforts until the end of 2018.
