DONNA – Officials want residents to be advised of possible contamination in floodwaters.

On Wednesday, residents told CHANNEL 5 NEWS they’re concerned about water bubbling from a manhole cover at the Pepper Tree Subdivision in Donna.  

KRGV’s Christian Von Preysing reached out to the city about the issue.  They say the possibility of sewer water mixing with floodwaters is there. It happened in June in several Rio Grande Valley cities.

For now, residents are advised to avoid touching the water and wait until it recedes.
